ENThe expert on folk art Dalia Bernotaitė-Beliauskienė presented an article that equalled to a small-sized monograph in which she did not only discuss a peasant weaving tradition but also acquaints the readers with lots of dialectal names of folk textile articles used in one or another village, a small town and region, thus as though commemorating the Year of Dialects. The author presents a brief review of literature about weaving; analyses patterns of fabric, ways of dyeing, reveals the variety of the interior and home textiles that accompany an individual from the cradle to the grave. The article is richly illustrated.
