ENThe article by the restorer Audronė Petroševičiūtė is valuable as a testimony of the history of restoring old tapestries at Lithuanian Art Museum Pranas Gudynas Restoration Centre. The article describes practical ways and technologies of restoration, provides a detailed analysis of the results of the investigations into 12 highly valuable artefacts and their restoration and discusses methods of the innovative reconstruction of disintegrated tapestries. The article records invaluable experience, which the restorers have acquired in bringing significant objects of art heritage back to life.
