ENThe paper deals with a rather modest literary output of medieval Ruthenian bookmen from the terrains of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (though author takes into account its hypothetical losses caused by wars, fires etc.). The stress is laid on such literary works as panegyrics to Grand Duke Vitovt and Prince Ostrozhski and the letter sent by the Metropolitan of Kiev Misail to Pope Sixtus IV (1476). Rusina analyzes their sources and concludes with a call for closer investigation of the role played by the scribes of the state chancellery of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the literary process of 15th–16th centuries.
