ENIn the article the interpretations of history of the first generations of princes Olelkowicze from the 15th–17th centuries are considered. The author notes that in a number of the texts (first of all, "Bychowiec’s Chronicle", and "Chronicle" by Maciej Stryjkowski) the aspiration to extol Olelkowicze’s kin is present. It is reached by means of addition and reconsideration of the earlier sources. So, Vladimir is proclaimed Olgierd’s first-born son, his fight for Kyiv is described. Olelko Wladimirowicz (as well as his son Simeon) is shown as the candidate for a grand-ducal throne, their attitude to Kyiv is emphasized. Besides, in the works of the 15th–17th centuries the unpleasant for Olelkowicze moments – their relationship with run away to Moscow Bielskis, the plot against Kazimierz in 1481, headed by Michail Olelkowicz – are hushed up.
