ENThe article studies the coinage of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania during the time of the Grand Duke Alexander Jagiellon (1492–1506). The author analyzes a number of controversial and problematic issues related to the launch of the Vilno Mint, chronology of emissions, mintage of separate denominations and metrological characteristics of issued coins. Establishment of the powerful monetary facilities assisted the increase of the international authority of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
