Jono Lasickio veikalo "De diis Samagitarum caeterorumque Sarmatarum et falsorum Christianorum" verifikacija Dionizo Poškos, Teodoro Narbuto darbuose

ENThe article contains verification of authenticity researches of mythological data recorded in Jonas Lasickis (Łasicki, Lasitzki, Lasicius, Lasitius) “De diis Samagitarum caeterorumque Sarmatarum et falsorum Christianorum“ (1615) carried out by Dionizas Poška and Teodoras Narbutas the scientists of second half of the 19th century. It also discusses how does the linguistic and functional reconstruction of Baltic theonyms indicated by Jonas Lasickis and performed by the before mentioned scientists resonates in significant works of mythologists of the 19th–21st centuries. The material of analyses carried out by the scientists of second half of the 19th century who have researched the reliability of mythological data contained by the source of Jonas Lasickis in the 16th century has been systematised using tables established on comparative basis with the main purpose to review and compare how the scientists of indicated century treated the forms and functions of theonyms recoded by Jonas Lasickis. The research revealed that the analysed scientists of second half of the 19th century was trying to reconstruct the theonyms indicated by Jonas Lasickis, i.e., rebuilding Baltic form / maintaining the original and when examining the functional aspect of the deities the scientists acted in three ways i.e., expanding functions / narrowing / not changing. Finally, it is concluded that both discussed scientists of the period are considered to be the first users of data recorded by Lasickis, and their interpretations viewed from today’s mythology science positions are interesting only in aspect of science history also not considered to be very reliable.It should be noted that after the review of famous scientists of the 19th–21st centuries who evaluated the verifications of Dionizas Poška and Teodoras Narbutas has revealed that the researchers of the said period of the Baltic religion and mythology have been using the analyses conducted by the mentioned authors in their studies, however they have been evaluating them controversially.
