Rumour and ambiguity in diplomatic relations between the Jagiellonians and the Teutonic order, 1445-1446

LTSavo santykiuose su Vokiečių ordinu Jogailaičiai išnaudojo gandų platinimo technologiją, idant galėtų susilpninti kuo geriau priešų padėtį tarptautinėje diplomatijoje. Puikiausiai tai matosi 15 a. penktame dešimtmetyje, Kazimiero Jogailaičio derybose su lenkų ponais dėl galimybės (iš esmės būtinybės) jį rinkti į lenkų karalius. Gandai išnaudojami taip pat ir Trylikos metų karo su Ordinu laikais (1454-1466 m.). ENIn order to weaken the enemy’s position, the Jagellion dynasty used the method of rumours in their international relations with the Teutonic order. It is evident when we take an example of talks between Kazimieras Jogailaitis (Kazimierz Jagiellon) and polish noblemen in the sixth decade of the fifteenth century, during which a possibility (or rather a necessity) to elect him a king was raised. The method of rumours was also used during the thirteen years of war with the Order in 1454-1466.
