Luigi Fabri (late 18th c. - early 19th c.) created a series of engravings about Cupid and Psiche after splendid loggias from Farnesina Palace (Villa Farnesina) in Rome, Julius Lasin, Filipo Cenci recreated the famous Raphael’s self-portraits, Salvatore Cardelli - the fragments of frescos in the Church of St Mary the Queen of Peace (Maria Paeis), featuring the prophets Habacuc, John, David and Daniel. Of interest and valuable are Antonio Lafrerij’s Praxiteles and Ovid and Antonio Salamanca’s The Laying to Coffin reproductions of compositions. Beside the Italian masters, the Belgian Nicolas Edeleck was active in Rome and did replicas of Raphael’s portraits and of the Holy Family, the Frenchman Franęois de Poiły (1622/23-1693) engraved Madonna and Child, Michel Lašine (L’asne, 1590/95- 1667) The Knight, Nicolas Dorigny (Dorigny Gallus, 1657-1746) Cupid and Psiche (Loggia di Psiche). In 1719 the latter was entrusted to reproduce Raphael’s preparatory cardboards for the grand tapestries of loggias (the so-called Loggie di Rafaele nei Vaticano). One of the most talented among the followers of Raphael’s work was the carver Johann Jacob Freij of the Swiss origin, who reproduced The Holy Family. The Netherlander Cornelius Corts’ splendid The Battle of the Scypion Legionaries against the Hannibal Army in North Africa is a replica of Raphael’s work. The graphics collection of the LAM keeps L. Sommerau’s interesting cycle of etchings. Their master - the court painter and engraver from the 18th c. (Fr. graveur au burin) of the Swiss origin Ludwig Sommerau (Johann Gottfried Ludwig, Fr.
