LTKritiškai aptariama Nancy Cartwright pateiktoji fundamentalių gamtos dėsnių samprata. Analizuojama fundamentalių dėsnių ceteris paribus pobūdžio reikšmė. Argumentuojama, kad Nancy Cartwright klysta fundamentaliems gamtos dėsniams nepriskirdama deskriptyvinės funkcijos. Pagrindinis analizės pavyzdys yra tas, kurį Cartwright bando panaudoti savo tikslams, būtent vektorių panaudojimas gamtotyroje. Kaip tik vektorinės priemonės parodo jos požiūrio nepagrįstumą: fundamentalūs dėsniai apie sąveikas aprašo gamtą pasiremdami vektorinių fizikinių dydžių dėsningumais. Raktažodžiai: fundamentalūs gamtos dėsniai, vektorinė analizė, ceteris paribus sąlygos.

ENThis article critically examines the account of fundamental laws defined by Nancy Cartwright in her book How the Laws of Physics Lie. An analysis of ceteris paribus conditions in the laws of nature is also presented. It is argued that, contrary to Nancy Cartwright’s view, fundamental laws can be rendered as descriptions of what happens in the world: it is the regularities of vector quantities that support the application of fundamental laws concerning interactions. In this context, the significat role of vectors in the description of nature is discussed. Key words: fundamental laws of nature, vector analysis, ceteris paribus conditions.
