ENIn the article Odeta Labanauskienė and Ona Mackevičienė explore the issue of the competence of the pedagogues from specialized preschool institutions to educate children with special needs applying the M. Montessori method. The following competences of the pedagogues applying the M. Montessori method have been established in the research: pedagogical sophistication; activity forecasting and planning; organization of the educational process; pedagogical communication and cooperation. The following pedagogical competences of kindergarten teachers applying the M. Montessori method of child education were revealed: pedagogical sophistication of very high level; high level organization of the education process; high level pedagogical communication and cooperation.
