ENThe results of the finished research show that the respondents quite often travel in Lithuania with a class (the class friends and teachers). The travels make the people closer to each other, they can have an open communication, to be at unofficial environment, to get to know each other better. In Ignalina NPP region there are many places where it is possible to develop the cognitive tourism of school-children. The main tasks of visiting this region are educational (fixing the knowledge and getting to know) and social (being with friends). Studying the research results it is possible to make a presupposition that most of the pupils don’t care about the information about Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant at the time of choosing a travel. Most of the people are willing to use the researched information and the experience in educational process. During the research it was stated that in Ignalina NPP region the school- children find the circumstances and possibilities for cognitive tourism. Most of them, who arrive from all over the country like it because it’s a mean to experience some special sensations, spiritual contact with nature and cultural heritage, the knowledge and experience that they got - to use willingly in further educational process. Rich tourism resources encourage to get the knowledge about distinctive nature and culture. The nature and cultural environments make the influence to education of school-children. That’s why it is important to use them in education process in a good manner. [From the publication]
