ENThe article is based on the published archaeological material of the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, files of the State Commission on Archaeology, archaeological research reports, receipts of taken exhibits kept in Biržai Regional Museum “Sėla” funds, publications about Biržai archaeological sites and artifacts found in them. The article aims to present archaeological objects in the town mentioned in the archaeological literature of the second half of the 19th century and the first half the 20th century, and to present archaeological research data of the second half of the 20th century till 2014 on the researched cultural layer of old town of Biržai and the historical part of the town and partially to localize the burial grounds in the former urban area, the mid-16th century manor, the 16th–18th-century Catholic and Evangelical Reformers’ churches and their former cemeteries.
