Automatinis terminų atpažinimas ir apdorojimas : disertacija

LTDėl terminų stokos, klaidingos jų vartosenos iškyla poreikis perorganizuoti terminologijos darbą, t.y. ne tik kurti naujus terminus, bet veikiau tirti jų vartoseną dabartinėje kalboje. Moderniųjų kalbinių technologijų siūloma ir Lietuvoje pirmą kartą šiuo darbu taikoma metodika – automatinis terminų atpažinimas – padeda tai įgyvendinti. Šiame darbe specialiomis Vakarų valstybėse sukurtomis ir iš dalies lietuvių kalbai pritaikytomis terminų atpažinimo programomis buvo mėginama automatiniu būdu atpažinti terminus dvikalbiuose per keturis mlj. žodžių apimančiuose ES teisinių dokumentų tekstynuose. Vėliau rankiniu būdu pagal autorės nustatytus terminiškumo vertinimo kriterijus iš atpažintų galimų terminų buvo atrenkami tikrieji terminai. Teoriniu požiūriu šis darbas vertingas dėl lietuvių terminologijai naujų teorinių traktuočių, termino ir netermino problemos gvildenimo ir jo rezultato – terminiškumo kriterijų nustatymo, mėginimų perprasti automatinių programų mechanizmą, tokiu būdu mėginant jas adaptuoti automatinei lietuvių kalbos terminų paieškai. Praktinė darbo nauda įžvelgiama galimybėje sukurti modernias ir patikimas lietuvių kalbos tekstus terminologiškai apdoroti pritaikytas automatines terminų atpažinimo programas. Jos padėtų kontroliuoti kintančias ar neteisingai vartojamas terminų reikšmes, natūralioje kalboje aptikti nesunormintus, t.y. ne terminologų sukurtus, bet vertėjų, technikų ir kitų profesijų žmonių pasiūlytus ir dalykinėje kalboje isitvirtinusius terminus, efektyviai sukurti bei aktualizuoti terminų žodynus, nustatyti kolokacijas ir pan. ENLack of terminology and its improper use creates a demand for re-organisation of terminological work: not only must new terms be created, but their patterns of usage in modern Lithuanian need to be studied. This is now being done with the help of modern linguistic technology that is being offered in Lithuania for the first time and a new methodology for automatic recognition of terms. In the project described, special term recognition programs designed in Western Europe and partly adapted for use in Lithuanian were used to try to effect automatic term recognition in bilingual EU texts from the legal archives comprising about 4 million words. Subsequently, from all the identified terms the most suitable terms were chosen manually in accordance with the author’s terminological evaluation criteria. From a theoretical point of view this work is valuable for its theoretical approaches that are new in the field of Lithuanian terminology, for its consideration of the problems of terms and non-terms, and for its results – the establishment of terminological evaluation criteria and the attempt to comprehend the mechanism of automated programs, and their possible adaptation to an automated search process for Lithuanian terms. The practical value of the work is perceived to be in the possibility of creating modern and reliable automatic term recognition programs designed to process the terms in Lithuanian texts. These programs would help to control inconsistent and incorrect assignation of meaning to terms that are found in natural speech and that have not yet been standardised, i.e. terms that have not been created by the appropriate authorities but by translators and technicians or suggested by other professional people and have become established in popular discourse. These programs would also help to effectively create and update terminological dictionaries and to define collocations, etc.
