ENThis article investigates the importance of technologies and their position in the country, analyses the interpretation of the concept of technology and its modern features (such as dynamics, globality, their seeming aggressiveness and adversity to human nature). It is revealed how the controversy between creating dynamic technologies and conservative humanism appears. Various features of the interaction between technologies and humanism are considered. The aspects of the humaneness of technologies are considered, as well as the directions of the development of technological sciences. The features of the interaction between sustainable development and modern technologies are discussed. Based on the outlined positive aspects of technologies, the mission of a modern technological university is defined.
