ENThe stratigraphical and chemical analysis of painting lay has been researched restoring the Aušra Gate painting. The main attention has been opened to the pictorial technique of the painting, also to the used material-priming, pigments and their useing types, to the painting of different parts of composition detales. The painting has been painted in oils on the brown very thin layer of priming. The lay of paint is plane, thin, covering, in some places lasirated, the stroke of the bruch is not seen in picture. The painting is partly repainted during the earlier restorations, the paint is changed. According to the research results and, comparing them with the 16th-17th cc. results of the pictorial technique on the wooden boards, has been stated, that the picture was painted in the mid. of the 17th c.
