ENThe present report gives a description of the life of lonely women, those bigots of Žemaičių Kalvarija. Since the 17th century žemaičių Kalvarija has been a special sanctuary of the Samogitians. And from then the major part of dwellers of the township of Kalvarija consisted of women. Women that devoted themselves to the honour of God maintained themselves by weaving or other minor works, as well as by sacrifices. The article gives a more detailed presentation of the tradition of walking along the way of the Cross.
