Summary / Abstract:

LTSraipsnyje analizuojamas muzikos mokyklų vadovų požiūris į esamo muzikinio ugdymo situaciją ir galimas ugdymo perspektyvas. Anketinės apklausos rezultatai atskleidė, kad dauguma vadovų gerai suvokia ugdymo pokyčių svarbą, tačiau tik nedaugelyje mokyklų apčiuopiami realūs edukacinio proceso kaitos reiškiniai: vos trečdalyje mokyklų pakito vertinimo sistema, koreguoti pedagoginio repertuaro reikalavimai, atsirado įvairesni ugdymo elementai ir strategijos instrumento pažinimo pamokoje. ENWith changes in the paradigms of contemporary education, the demand for changes in education is becoming obvious, based on the individual interests of students, cooperation among the participants of the pedagogical process, the initiatives of musical teachers being fulfilled in reality, etc. Is the music school for children of late, a “product” of the 1950s, capable of adapting to the new demands of society and educational purposes and ensuring the offering of high quality education? The spread of contemporary education in music schools is an issue concerning not only music teachers, but also the professional and managerial competences of school administrators and leaders and their attitude towards changes in education. Therefore, in order to thoroughly investigate the peculiarities of education carried out in music schools and clarify the way these changes are understood and modelled, the opinion of school leaders was analysed. The object of the research was the educational process in Lithuanian music schools. The aim of the research was to investigate school leaders’ attitudes towards the shift of educational process in Lithuanian music schools. The methods used in the research included an analysis of scientific literature and a questionnaire-based survey of school leaders. The data was processed by employing the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) computer descriptive statistics software package. The analysis of the obtained data showed a realistic situation: the education being conducted at music schools is still influenced by traditions formed in the past century and is partly determined by leaders’ attitudes. It is frequently isolated from what is topical in society and is rather reserved with regard to the spread of innovations. However, the research conducted also emphasised some positive aspects of this type of education: forms of education that are attractive to students are gradually being included into school curricula, the various demands of students are being taken into consideration, and a more diverse type of artistic expression more acceptable for students is being encouraged.
