ENHistory of prosecution of international crimes in Lithuania is rather short. All of the prosecutions discussed in the current article refer to historic events of 1940–1990. Fortunately, none of contemporary international criminals are choosing Lithuania as their refuge. However, even though the history of prosecution is short and the number of cases is comparatively small, it bears more than just national significance. Therefore this article will deal with the following issues: first, it will present a very short historical outlook on inter national crimes committed in the territory of nowadays Lithuania; second will discuss how and with what kind of particularities the responsibility for international crimes was introduced into Lithuanian criminal law; third, it will analyse the recent “testing” of those prosecutions both on Constitutional and international level.
