ENThe paper presents a review of the parish history of the Kupiškis Church of Ascension of Christ to Heaven, Kupiškis Deanery (Panevėžys Diocese), from a chapel to a filial church and autonomous parish that had been formed only in 1923, as well as its clergy (deans, honorary deans, vicars and administrators). Pastoral activity of clergy in forming and fostering the live parish as well as decorating the church is described. An exceptional attention is paid to Monsignor Klemensas Gutauskas, a long-term dean of the church and Kupiškis honorary citizen. The Kupiškis parish under the title of the Ascension of Christ to Heaven is one of five Lithuanian churches with this title. The paper contains author- compiled tables and appendices.
