LTStraipsnis supažindina su 15 metų trukusia moksline, organizacine ir administracine profesoriaus Vacio Miliaus veikla Lietuvoje atkurtoje Lietuvių katalikų mokslo akademijoje. Jo užimamos pareigos kėlė į aukštesnį mokslinį lygmenį pagrindinius Akademijos leidinius - „LKMA suvažiavimo darbai“ ir „LKMA metraščiai“. 1997 metais Akademija, įvertindama plačiašakę veiklų suteikėjam LKMA akademiko titulų.
ENProfessor Vacys Milius became a member of the Lithuanian Catholic Academy of Science (LCAS) from its reestablishment in Lithuania in 1990. He gave lectures at the section of the Science of History established in the LCAS Vilnius Department in 1992, in 1994 established and led an independent section of ethnology, and the first republican conferences in Lithuania devoted to ethnological issues - “The Christian Aspects of Ethnic Culture” (1995) and “Cross Crafting in Lithuania” (2002) - were held on his initiative in 1995 and 2002. Professor Milius took part in field trips held by LCAS ethnologists and gave lectures during the Days of LCAS (2001). He organized and led the sections of ethnology in the congresses of the Lithuanian Catholic Academy of Science, gave lectures and participated in discussions. He published scientific articles in the main scientific publications of the LCAS: Proceedings of the LCAS Congresses and LCAS Chronicles. As a representative of the Lithuanian Institute of History, where he worked, he became a member of the editorial board of the LCAS publications and contributed to improving their academic quality. In 1997 he was elected to the LCAS Central Board as a deputy chair for publication, and in the same year was conferred the title of an Academician of the LCAS.
