Badania nad litewskimi tekstami prawniczymi

ENThe aim of this article is to present the research of the translations of Lithuanian legal texts based on the author’s upon experience as a legal translator into the Lithuanian language at the local courts in Lubuskie district. This article describes certain legal documents coming from different Lithuanian state institutions such as prosecutor’s office, archives/registries, courts and others. I have mainly focused on the characteristics of those documents, legal terms and expressions as well as morphology. I decided to write it, because a certain lack of Lithuanian-Polish and Polish- Lithuanian legal dictionaries may be noticed. Surely, I have felt it during my work. The article outlines the Lithuanian legal terms and expressions with their Polish translation, which is only the beginning of a long research, however.
