LTPinigų klastojimu vyriausybiniame lygmeny ne kartą buvo bandoma destabilizuoti kaimyninių valstybių finansus ir ekonomiką, todėl iki mūsų dienų neišnykusio reiškinio tyrimai yra svarbūs ne tik tam, kad būtų rekonstruota pinigų apyvartos ir valstybių tarptautinės ekonominės politikos raida, bet ir suteikia galimybę geriau pažinti visuomenės raidos dėsningumus. Šio darbo tikslas – monetų klastojimo, vykdyto Vilniaus gubernijos teritorijos ribose, pristatymas. Duomenų bazės fondai rodo, kad klastotės pirmiausia pradėjo plisti mažuose gubernijos miesteliuose XIX a. pradžioje. Klastojimu retkarčiais užsiimdavo ir privilegijuoti luomo atstovai, kartais ir laikinąją karo tarnybą atliekantys asmenys. Klastojimas ir klastotų monetų apyvarta dar labiau išplito XIX a. II pusėje, šis procesas tęsėsi ir XX a. pirmame dešimtmetyje. Daugiausia monetų klastojimo ir jų platinimo atvejų užregistruota ne Vilniuje – didžiausiame ir pagrindiniame gubernijos mieste, bet periferijoje. ENForgery of money at the governmental level was more than once used to destabilise finance and economy of the neighbouring states, thus the research of this phenomenon, which continues to be relevant in the present day, is significant not only for the reconstruction of the then capital movement and the development of the international economy politics, but also provides with the possibility of a deeper understanding of the patterns of the society development. The aim of this work is the presentation of money forgeries within the County of Vilnius. Data bases show that money forgeries were first noticed in small towns of the county at the beginning of the 19th century. Sometimes forgeries were produced by privileged representatives of the caste, sometimes it was delegated to military officers. Forgery and the turnover of fake coins gained speed in the second half of the 19th century. The same process continued to exist in the first decade of the 20th century. The majority of cases of forgery and distribution of fake coins was registered not in Vilnius, which was the biggest and the main city of the county, but in the periphery. It was the expression of the then demographic and socioeconomic condition.
