Polacy - studenci kierunków z polskim językiem nauczania na Litwie w świetle badań ankietowych

ENIn the given article, the author presents the results of his research work conducted during the internship in the Lithuanian Institute of History in Vilnius in 2011. The scope of interest included, among others, the following issues: political choices of the youth, participation in the cultural life, the attitude towards the Lithuanian people and the issue of emigration. The author asked also about religion and the attitude towards the church. In addition, he raised the question of marriage and partnership, paying special attention to ethnically mixed relationships. The survey was conducted among a group of hundred Poles studying with Polish teaching language at three universities in Vilnius: the University of Vilnius, Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences and the branch of University of Bialystok in Vilnius. The analysis of the results of the survey leads to the conclusion that the respondents appreciate the values of a happy family life and true friendships, which prevent them from emigrating. On the other hand, the fact that some of them have families in Poland is the reason why they declare a desire to go to the Motherland. The Catholic Church still plays an important role among the young Poles studying with Polish teaching language in Lithuania, which is a unique feature when compared to the progressing secu-larization of the population of the European Union.
