Pamięć i terytorium jako elementy tożsamości etniczno-kulturowej Tatarów polskich

ENThe article focuses on issues like the memory, and the territory as the main criteria of the ethnic and cultural identity of Polish Tatars. The work is based on qualitative research including an interview and analyses of documents. The area of the research is spread through present territory of Podlaskie voivodship. The conclusion of the article is that territory as well as the memory play an important role in the Tatar identity. The memory of the group is filled up by mythologized or really existing space which refers to the origin of the group. There could be also distinguished lost space filled by material symbols and emotions for both those who have experienced this loss, and their descendants. There could be also separated the living space and spiritual one.
