ENThe Wróblewski Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences in Vilnius holds an interesting medieval copy of the Bible, identified as manuscript F22-98. In terms of ornamentation and script, this book is reminiscent of the Paris Bible, and contains additional texts which are characteristic of earlier versions. This begs the question, whether Ms F22-98 is a copy of the proto-Paris Bible. However, a detailed analysis of codicological aspects of the book in question coupled with the scrutiny of its contents prove that in fact it is an authentic Paris Bible. The misleading elements in the content are a later addition sewn into the volume. The evidence discussed demonstrates that Ms F22-98 was copied around the middle of the 13th century. However, an art-historical study of decoration of the book is necessary to provide a more precise dating.
