Summary / Abstract:

ENThe article discusses very important issues of some language peculiarities of so-called borderland dialect, concentrating especially on the phonetic aspects. The author discusses such features of this dialect as for example coronal h alternating to ż, which is contrary to what most of the users of Polish literary langue know from practice, namely alternating of the phone h or ch to the phone sz. The author also mentions the functioning of the coronal ł, which can nowadays only be heard in the speech of the old generation of actors and people displaced from the eastern borders of the II Rzeczypospolita. The article discusses not only those traits of the borderland dialect that are slowly disappearing, but also those that are now integrated into Polish literary language.
