ENTwo visitation acts of Varniai Cathedral are described in the report. Liturgical things and high altars serve as a basic source to study aesthetic conscious. The 17th century visitation act supports the statement that an aesthetic approach does not differ from the sacral function of the thing. At the end of the 18th century one can realize the autonomization of an aesthetic approach.
