ENThe growing Eurasian trade determines the competitiveness of countries that are on the route of movement of goods. For Lithuania, as a transit country, improvement of the competitiveness of the transport system becomes of great importance as it will attract larger streams of goods and will enable the country to reap the profits. The quality of the provision of logistics services largely depends now on the cooperation of individual modes of transport and the construction of modem logistics centers located on major transit routes. In Lithuania there are strong reasons for intensive development of intermodal transport, including the construction of modem logistics centers. It will help meet the growing demand for transit service and improve the quality of the transport system in Lithuania.
