ENThe article deals with four types of art criticism which exist in today's Western as well as Lithuanian culture. The author follows the scheme by Jerome Stolnitz and interprets it as to be applied for visual art critics. The strenght and the weakness of contextual, impressionist, intentionalist and intrinsic art criticism in the field of visual arts is presented.
