LTStraipsnyje analizuojama bankų sektoriaus priežiūros svarba ekonominio stabilumo požiūriu, akcentuojami pagrindiniai bankų sektoriaus priežiūros tikslai. Straipsnyje taip pat analizuojama Lietuvos bankų sektoriaus priežiūros raida, išskiriant svarbiausius bankų priežiūros sistemos elementus, finansų ir bankų sektoriaus priežiūros tendencijos finansų sistemos globalizacijos kontekste bei Lietuvos bankų priežiūros tendencijos ir alternatyvos. Straipsnyje nagrinėjama bendro Lietuvos finansų įstaigų priežiūros modelio įdiegimo prielaidos bei argumentai išskiriami šio modelio privalumai bei trūkumai.

ENThe article analyses the importance and main goals of banking supervision. There are also analyzed the development of the supervision of Lithuanian banks and the tendencies of supervision of banking sector in the impact of financial system globalization. The article analyses the trends and alternatives of supervision of Lithuanian banking sector and the rationale for setting an integrated national financial services regulator. There are analyzed the assumptions of creation an integrated national financial services authority, the main advantages and weakness of this financial regulation model.
