History of Lithuanian culture
LTMetodinėje studijų knygoje atskleidžiami lietuvių etninės kultūros bruožai, analizuojami jos raidos etapai ir ryškiausios XX a. Lietuvos meno, teatro ir literatūros tendencijos, perteikiami lietuvių tapatumo kultūrinių pokyčių aspektai. Penki autoriai pateikia XX a. lietuvių kultūros apžvalgą ir išryškina esmines istorinės atminties formas. Etnologė Dalia Senvaitytė apibrėžia modernios nacionalinės kultūros ir tapatybės sąvokas, aptardama Lietuvos etnografinių regionų ir etninių tradicijų savitumą. The most popular tendencies of the Lithuanian art, theatre and literature of the 20th century are discussed as well together with the aspects of the cultural change in Lithuanian identity. Five authors state the overview of the Lithuanian culture in 20th century and highlight the main forms of historic memory. Ethnologist Dalia Senvaitytė defines the meaning of the modern nationalistic culture and the identity by discussing the authenticity of the ethnographic regions and traditions. Historian of Art Rasa Žukienė focuses on the significant stages of the development of Lithuanian art. The expression of the national romanticism in the 20th century, modernism and the phenomenon of the Soviet modernisation, conceptual ideas in the modern art are discussed by the historian. Theatrologist Edgaras Klivas analyses the development of Lithuania's National Theatre since the second half of the 20th century. He discusses the popularity of modern ideas, the forms of the Soviet theatre and the newest tendencies in the theatrical culture. Literary scholar Nijolė Višomirskytė overviews the century of Lithuanian literature, bringing out the changes in the meaning of the national identity. Literary historian Dalia Kuizinienė discusses the exilic Lithuanian literature, the creations of the writers in the second half of the 20th-century and the history of the Lithuanian Theatre in the exile. An exhaustive list of the literature and the references used is provided both in Lithuanian and English. This journal is dedicated for the students of the Lithuanian and Baltic study centres.
