ENThis article is the analysis of the development of Lithuanian glass industry reflecting its four periods: the nature of the first glass finds in Lithuania; the prosperity of glass industry manufactures in Lithuanian Grand principality; the development of the manufactures into glass factories and the rise of the professional glass industry in Lithuania after the appearance of skilled artists in the middle of the 20th century after the training of glass specialists began in the seventh decade. One tries to disclose the breaks of the art development and efforts to revive glass traditions in the utilitarian forms of glass and the ornaments of various decorative glassworks. The personality of S. Ušinskas takes the most important place in the consolidation of professional glass industry.
