ENThe article focuses on the life of Ivan Timofeevich Yurlov, of Pleshcheyev kin, in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. It considers the situation of the Pleshcheyev kin in the Grand Duchy of Moscow, the circumstances and possible reasons of I.T. Yurlov leaving and analyzes his position in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The article notes that I.T. Yurlov became a prosperous landowner, on one hand thanks to the award of the Grand Duke Sigismund, on the other hand - thanks to private enterprise. His acquisition of a sufficiently high social status contributed to his marriage with the representative of a well known family in the Principality - Chreptowicz. I.T. Yurlov's career as an «uryadnik (constable)» developed with controversy, for subjective reasons. The main factor by which I.T. Yurlov managed to take a high position in the environment of the local Szlachta (gentry), was his faithful service at the Vilna court - it seems that it was mainly his participation in hostilities against their former sovereign during the war years 1512-1522, including the Orsha campaign of 1514. His loyal service to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania provided I.T. Yurlov the support of top officials. Among other Moscow natives of that era, I.T. Yurlov is one of the most successful examples of the integration of immigrants into the society of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which had become a prerequisite for Muscovites' favorable sociocultural climate that existed in the country at that time.
