ENThe purpose of this article is to present the indicators of human capital of Lithuania, and to establish a correlation with GDP in the regional spatial differentiation of Lithuania. For this purpose the statistical data of Eurostat and Lithuanian Department of Statistics was used and indicators of human capital of Lithuania were compared with EU counterparts. Human capital is one of the most important components of economic competitiveness. The main task of this article is to examine the relationship between the quality of human capital in the districts and the size of the GDP in these regions of Lithuania. Using statistical methods the study discovered a very strong correlation between the number of people having attained tertiary education and GDP in the counties of Lithuania - the average value of the Pearson correlation coefficient is 0,9877 while Spearman's rank correlation coefficient equals 0,9361.
