ENThe article deals with the representation of battle of the Blue Water (1362) in Ukrainian historiography of last decades. Author criticizes exaggerated views on this battle as a major historical event that put an end to the political domination of the Golden Horde in Eastern Europe. In authors opinion, these notions based primarily on the late 16th c. Chronicle by Maciej Stryikowski do not reflect historical realities, but can serve as an example of ethnocentric mythology in present-day Ukraine.
