Summary / Abstract:

ENThe Tale about Podolye - the journalistic monument of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, dedicated to the reaffirm of its rights on the Western Podolye, is investigated in the article. The dating of the Tale by the beginning of the 1430s is substantiated, its news are compared with the independent sources, what allows determining of their authenticity. As a result, it appears that the author of the Tale did not use the documentary sources and designed the history of Podolya based on oral tradition and the Chronicler of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania.
