ENPurpose – to review and assess the challenges and practice of institutions responsible for ensuring the fair transmission from litas to euro (Competition Council of Republic of Lithuania, etc.). Design/methodology/approach – Document analysis and systematic analysis methods are predominant. The research covers the period from the August 22, 2014 until the June 30, 2015. Findings – The practice of national currency transmission to the euro in Lithuania was smooth and determined by the proper initial preparation. The tight communication with countries that already adopted the euro ensured the smoothness and transparency of the transmission process. Practical implications – The results of this research could be useful not only as an assessment of Lithuanian national practice but also as a guideline for the member states aiming to join the Eurozone. Originality/Value – In order to provide comprehensive results, this research expands to the related initial preparation activities. The challenges, fixed unfair practice and the decisions of related responsible institutions are assessed.
