ENThe author tries to present the problem of Yotvingians in Polish politics from the times of Kazimierz Sprawiedliwy (1194) to the annihilation of Yotvingians in 1283. There are few sources concerning the topic, thus most of the information comes from the studies on Polish-Prussian (Jan Powierski) or Polish-Lithuanian (Grzegorz Blaszczyk) relations. In the times of Kazimierz Sprawiedliwy there was peace be tween these two nations for about 20 years. Yotvingians used to attack Rus’s lands. The situation changed in 1217 when Leszek I the White started the war with Daniel of Galicia. The Baltic tribes (including Yotvingians) took a side with Rus. When Konrad I of Masovia invited the religious military order of Teutonic Knights to fight the Prussians, Yotvingians and Lithuanians were continually harassed by the enemy raids.
