ENThe exile of people who lived in the borderland between Poland and Lithuania took place in 1948-1951. Approximately 200 people, described as not loyal and dangerous elements, were displaced to Regained Territories. The people displaced in 1950 were accused of supporting and helping the Lithuanian partisans. Most of the Lithuanians were displaced to Szczecin district and inhabited in former German farms. In 1956 these people were rehabilitated and got permissions to come back to their farms in Suvalkai region. However, not all of them exercised that right.
