ENVilnius Cyrillic press from 16th–19th centuries is a significant part of book culture of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Development of Vilnius Cyrillic press was mainly influenced by confessional confrontation between Orthodoxies and Catholics as well as West European culture. The choice of topics and artistic typography of the published books was primarily oriented towards experience of the Polish printers. Furthermore, through interaction with the ancient book culture of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania Vilnius Cyrillic press absorbed some artistic elements of the South Slavs. These features in a variety of ways are evident in activity of all Vilnius Cyrillic book printers.
