Znaczenie literatury Tatarów Wielkiego Księstwa Litewskiego dla badań lingwistycznych nad polskimi tekstami dawnymi

ENThis article discusses the significance of literature written by Tatars of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania for research of historic Polish texts on an example of the 16th century book from the circle of religious descriptive prose - Historyja barzo cudna [A Very Marvellous Story] by Krzysztof Pussman. The author's work is limited to the analysis of lexical similarities and differences that occur in the three versions of the text: in two Mid-Polish editions printed in traditional graphic layout, and in fragments of the kitab manuscript that comes from the second half of the 18th century, called Milkamanowicz's kitab, written in Arabic script. Proper names that occur in the kitab are Orientalised, whereas in the area of common names, several basic types of differences are distinguished between the aforesaid Tatar manuscript and Polish historical literature. By comparing them, we can track down the direct text source of the kitab fragment under discussion. Certainly, it is not the unique work of 1551 but its later edition that is discussed in this article, or yet another one that shows some similarity with the former.
