ENThe publication of the items of information about ground possession of nobility in Ašmiany region (Paviet) begins a series of statistical materials about other regions of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the First Half of 16,h Century. The information is taken from the Books 12-31 of the Metrica of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and illustrates heuristic opportunities of this unique case of historical sources. This statistical information is important for study of a genealogy, history of the inhabited localities, history of economy and history of the social relations. The authors hope that the offered system of the publication of the information will allow the interested persons quickly to find the necessary information about Ašmiany region and nobility of this region in the Books of the Metrica of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
