ENThe inventory o f the Brest-Kobryn crown lands dating from 1742 is a unique source in the economic history o f Belarus in the second quarter of the eighteenth century. The inventory w as drawn up when the lands were leased to Count Jerzy Fleming for a period of six years. It contains a detailed description of the economic situation in the royal lands in order to prevent charging the subjects on the part of the lessee and thus prevent the economic decline of so-called "table" lands (dobra stołowe), which provided money for the King’s personal coffers and expenses. The information presented in this paper sheds light on the structure of the administrative and territorial division of the crown lands into nobles’ estates and estates of the Voyt (German Vogt, a hereditary head of a town); it also enables examining the specific nature of the economic development of towns and villages in the crown lands, as well as defining the state’s economic policy towards the Brest-Kobryn crown lands. The illustrations included in the document contribute to its uniqueness; they not only have an aesthetic value but also serve as research materials. The agricultural subject matter of the drawings provides an insight into the specific nature of the social and economic situation in the Brest-Kobryn crown lands in the second quarter of the eighteenth century, for example, oxen were the predominant draught animals and a large number of landless peasants stayed there.
