Summary / Abstract:

ENThe article analyses whether there is indeed an issue of excessively lengthy proceedings and unequal workload of judges in first instance district courts in the Republic of Lithuania. The study is based on the official workload statistics of courts provided by the National Courts Administration. The authors discuss the reform proposed in 2014 to consolidate district courts into larger units, provide their conclusions and recommendations.
