Идентичность как лингвосоциокультурный феномен (на примере пословиц и поговорок)
ENThus the article focuses on the Lithuanian identity in comparison with the English and Russian identities. Language has an important role in the process, and sometimes it becomes the only tool for mutual understanding of different lingua-ethnical communities. A person and his/her language are inseparable. A person does not exist without a language, and a language is only alive if a person is there. Common interface of different nations and cultures is being analysed when looking at Lithuanian, English and Russian proverbs and sayings. Ethno-cultural sameness of different language groups and nations is stressed. The conditions ensuring the development of intercultural communication that would secure the opportunity to form the identity of the European citizen are also discussed.
