ENVocational rehabilitation is an important part of the complex rehabilitation, which is based on the biopsychosocial health model. Vocational rehabilitation was established in Lithuania in 2005, when the existing practice was regulated by relevant legislation. Palanga Rehabilitation Hospital has been developing vocational rehabilitation services since 1993, primary focusing on patients with paraplegia and tetraplegia. According to current regulations, disabled persons of working age are provided with vocational rehabilitation services, if their working ability is up to 50 percent, and they cannot apply in labor market their qualification and skills, which were gained before disability, or they have not any. The services and employment results were assessed recently, and strategy of improvement is developed. Some of the most important tasks could be implementation of quality system, creating training programs for specialists, especially the teachers, and establishing regulations for practice at outer workplaces.
