Pasitikėjimas dievo gailestingumu

LTIcchoko Mero proza yra unikali savo artumu ir žydiškų bei lietuviškų santykių intymiu išpažinimu, atsivėrimu pasaulinės literatūros erdvei. Tačiau lietuvių ir žydų kultūros bendro paveldo ženklams lietuvių literatūros kritikoje skiriama nepakankamai dėmesio. Šiuos ženklus I. Mero kūryboje galbūt paslepia rašytojo meistriškumas, originaliai motyvuotas formaliosios struktūros lygmuo. Novelėje „Stotelė vidukelėj“, 2004 m. išleistoje apsakymų rinktinėje, bendri lietuvių ir žydų ženklai iškelia tikėjimo Dievo gailestingumu problemą. Straipsnyje daugiausia dėmesio skiriama minėtai temai, jos potemėms ir gilioms I. Mero prozos prasmėms.

ENThe prose of Icchokas Meras is unique in its sincere treatment of relationships between the Lithuanians and the Jews, as well as for the sense of the world literature apparent in his fiction. However, the symbols common to Lithuanian and Jewish cultures have not been given enough attention in the Lithuanian criticism. This lack of attention to the symbolic structures of Meras's prose may be due to the fact that these symbols are overshadowed by manifestations of the writer's artistry of the writer at the level of formal structures of his writing. In A Station in the Midway, a collection of tales edited in 2004, the analysis of the common Lithuanian and Jewish symbols highlights the issue of trust in God's mercy. This theme, its sub-themes and the deep meaning of Meras's prose is in the focus of attention of this article.
