ENThis article shows that the team of Rolandas Paksas consistently used the current socio-psychological tendencies in the society in order to create the advantageous for them situation of the total conflict. It became clear that during the presidential scandal the reactions of the TV-controlled crowd to the events are very important both influencing the actions and decisions of politicians, also creating and forming the supporters of both sides. From the beginning of conflict R. Paksas sort of took a stand above the political disputes that are one of the main factors in making the political decision in the democratic society. It is obvious that to avoid participating in the functioning of this system is the same as to avoid the democracy and give the hint to the anti-democratic forces. So, the situation of two Lithuanians was created, when whole country very quickly and effectively has split up into the "elite" - the ruling politicians, the mass media supporting them, and the church - and the "disadvantaged" - outcast from the power politicians, businesspeople. Thus, the political portrait of R.Paksas was consistently formed according to the conflict situation. Hereby the conflict got the personified picture. [From the publication]
