"Thanatos" Sławomira Worotyńskiego (1942-1983)

LTSlawomiras Worotynskis – šiuolaikinis Vilniaus lyrikas, tapęs legenda dar gyvas, priklausė pokario Vilniaus krašto lenkų literatūros kūrėjų kartai, kuriai teko gyventi Sovietų imperijoje – tai lėmė kultūrinį šios kartos svetimumą, sąlygų talento plėtotei ir galimybių spausdinti kūrinius gimtąja kalba trūkumą. Būdamas gyvas, S. Worotynskis nesulaukė nė vieno spausdinto savo kūrybos rinkinio. Prieš išvykdamas į Lenkiją (iš kurios jam jau nebuvo lemta sugrįžti) visus savo rankraščius perdavė savo bičiuliui - poetui Henrikui Mažuliui. Tarp jų buvo ir 75 tekstų segtuvas, pavadintas Thanatos. Šie tekstai, praėjus septyneriems metams po poeto savižudybės, buvo įtraukti į H. Mažulio parengtus ir išspausdintus S. Worotynskio poezijos rinkinius (tarp jų ir į naujausią, ir išsamiausią rinkinį Złamana gałązka bzu, 2005). Šis straipsnis ir yra skirtas S. Worotynskio „mirties“ ciklo poezijos analizei. Motyvai, susiję su mirtimi, užėmė svarbią vietą poeto – artistiškos, nepaprastai jautrios, pasiklydusios šiuolaikiniame realiame pasaulyje asmenybės – kūryboje. Gyvenimas ir mirtis – du egzistencijos kraštutinumai – S. Worotynskiui buvo vienodai svarbūs. Vis dėlto mirtis, kurią poetas traktavo ambivalentiškai (viena vertus, kaip pabėgimą ir išsilaisvinimą iš nepakeliamos buities gniaužtų, kita vertus, su ja siejosi skausmingas laikinumo ir „buvimo-mirčiai“ suvokimas), užėmė vis daugiau vietos jo sąmonėje, tapdama dažnai įkyria idėja. Ne kartą jis kėlė pomirtinės sielos egzistencijos klausimą; artimiausi jo vaizduotei buvo antikiniai mirties įvaizdžiai. ENSlawomir Worotynski, who became a legend in his own lifetime, is a modern Vilnius poet of the post-war Polish literati of Vilnius, who had the misfortune of spending their creative years in the Soviet era, when limited opportunities for publishing their creative work in Polish stymied the development of talent and fostered alienation. S. Worotynski did not see the publication of any of his works while he was still alive. Before leaving for Poland (from which he was fated never to return) he gave all his manuscripts to his friend, the poet Henrikas Mažulis. Among these was a folder of 75 texts, called Thanatos. These texts were included in the selection of S.Worotynski’s poetic works edited and published by H. Mažulis in the latest, most comprehensive anthology of the poet, Złamana gałązka bzu, published in 2005, seven years after the poet committed suicide. This article focuses on S. Worotynski’s cycle of poems about death (Thanatos means “death”). Motifs associated with death occupied an important place in the creative work of this poet, whose personality was so artistic, exceptionally sensitive, so lost in the clutter of the realities of modern life. Life and death – the two extremities of human existence – were of equal importance to S. Worotynski. Nonetheless, death – which the poet treated ambivalently, seeing it as an escape and liberation from the intolerable burden of everyday life on the one hand, and on the other hand a painful reminder of the transience of life, of “living only for to die” – began to take an increasing hold on his consciousness, becoming an idea that wouldn’t go away. More than once he raised the issue of possible continued existence of the soul after death; the death imagery of antiquity was the most in touch with his imagination.
