ENThe article deals with four paintings of Pranciškus Smuglevičius which have been attributed by the authoress. The pictures are in south Lithuania, not far from Alytus in three parochial churches. The painting of high altar „God Providence“ in Daugai Church of God Providence is mentioned since 1809 in the sources of archives. Since 1848 there was explained that the creative work - by Pranciškus Smuglevičius. Probably the picture was ordered in 1804-1806 to the new Daugai church by a dean of this church Povilas Deškelevičius. In the picture „God Providence“ is represented the God Father, blessing a shephered standing on his knees on a background of the Lithuanian scenery — image of all believing in God. Such an iconography in the Lithuanian art context is a very rare and distinctive - the authorship of Pranciškus Smuglevičius shows the stylistics of painting so pecular to him, colour and treatment of personages. The painting is in a good repair, renovated, more below. In Pivašiūnai Church of the Assumption is preserved a picture „St. Anupras (Onufrij) Takes the Sacrament from Angel“. As a painting by Pranciškus Smuglevičius in the sources of archives it was mentioned since 1849. To Pivašiūnai this painting was brought in 1832 when Russian autorities closed the Church of Aukštadvaris. The cult of St. Anupras was very popular in the units churches. It is known that St. Anupras (Onufrij) with St. Pafnutij were painted by P. Smuglevičius to the Franciscan clarises of Warsaw and Franciscan observants of Vilnius. As the authoress has mentioned above the authorship of Pranciškus Smuglevičius is seen in a very his creative work, byond all manner of doubt the picture of Pivašiūnai church is painted by P. Smuglevičius. The Rumboniai’ Church of Holy Trinity the side altar is decorated by two paintings „Congratulation of Shepherds (The Birth of Jesus)“ and „Penancing St. Peter“. The sources about those pictures are rare and late. Possible, that the paintings were ordered in 1795 when the new Rumboniai’ church was built by a noble Simonas Vyšniauskas. Maybe the pictures were painted in, 1798 till the consecration of the church. There are doubts about the authorship of Pranciškus Smuglevičius to those paintings. But the compositions of pictures, analysis of personages and subjects, the comparing of detales and totality of the paintings with the other creative works by Pranciškus Smuglevičius allow those last two paintings to attribute to R Smuglevičius hand in the Rumboniai’ church side altars. The „Congratulation of Shepherds“ picture’s and drawing’s „Three Kings“ by P. Smuglevičius compositions are very similar. The presented four paintings by Pranciškus Smuglevičius distinguish for their high artistic level from the background of the Lithuanian provinces church art of that time.
